Sabie Sofa in Delta

I designer Ardmore ci hanno regalato un divano in edizione limitata per il lancio della “Sabie Fabric collection” nel 2020, disponibile in soli 30 pezzi nel color Delta. Gli alti schienali consentono a due persone di sedersi tra elefanti danzanti che giocano con una scimmia, affiancati da viaggiatori che cavalcano una giraffa e uno struzzo. I nostri piedi e le nostre spalle si rinfrescano nelle acque del fiume Sabie, dove ippopotami e coccodrilli giocano tra ninfee e un pitone si avvolge nell’angolo destro, sotto il braccio. All’ombra delle piante, in fondo al divano, emerge il re ghepardo, con le sue rare macchie e strisce. La base e i braccioli del bordo del divano sono incorniciati da un motivo zulù a strisce di perline, spesso presente nelle basi delle opere ceramiche firmate Ardmore. Questo divano ci trasporta in una magica fantasia tra flora e fauna: delle vere e proprie opere d’arte.

Ardmore designers have given us a signature limited edition sofa with the launch of the “Sabie Fabric collection” 2020, that come in only 30 pieces in Delta, in a rich and sensual velvet. The high backs allow for two to sit amongst dancing elephants juggling a vervet monkey, flanked by travelers riding a giraffe and ostrich. Our feet and behinds cool off in the Sabie river waters where hippos and crocs play amongst water lilies and a python coils in the right hand corner under one’s arm. In the shadows of the plants, at the back of the sofa, emerges the illusive King cheetah with his rare spots and stripes. The sofa’s border base and arms are framed with Zulu beaded striped – liked pattern, so often seen in the bases of Ardmore Ceramic works. These sofas transport us into a magical animal and botanical fantasy and we consider them to be appreciated as Art works.
